I studied at Mae Fah Luang University in Chiang Rai, Thailand that is surrounded by mountains for four years. Additionally, from 22 years of life, I had visited many places in Thailand, especially the mountain attractions, so I want to share with you the songs that I love to listen to when my eyes could not stop watching the mountains.
1. Iron & Wine – Call It Dreaming
I could not get this song out of my mind when there was dazzling rain and my right hand was holding a cup of tea. It brought back my nostalgic feelings from the old day to me which I think it made me feel comfortable, so I hope you guys would feel the same to me after listening to this song.
2. Ed Sheeran – Castle on the Hill
This song reminded me of the time when I was travelling with friends. The sound of laughter in the car, the sound of different songs we fight before opening it, or the screaming of our voices when we saw Prince Charming on the way to Chiang Mai, Thailand. I miss them so much, and I cannot wait to travel with them again.
3. Jeremy Zucker & Chelsea Cutler – This is How You Fall in Love
When I first heard this song, I felt like I had breathed the fresh air of the mountains after the rain. I think of the new beginning of life after the storm happened to me, so I felt relaxed or peaceful. Thus, I think this song suits with feeling when you and your friends, family, or lovers were watching mountains or driving among those mountains, for it will make you felt warm and cosy.
4. Taylor Swift – Seven
This worths listening to in the morning when the sun rose and the fog covered all the mountains, and you were drinking a cup of tea or coffee. Guys! It is so peaceful. You could escape from the busy things in life for a moment.
5. Ed Sheeran – Afterglow
I recommend you trying to listen to this song when you were seeing the city light from the mountains. You will realise that happiness can happen easily without chasing anything too much. Let your heart flows with the songs you were listening to.
6. Simon & Garfunkel – The Sounds of Silence
When you are alone and sad, and your eyes tend to see only the forest or the mountains, it tended to increase the loneliness in your heart which I believe that this song fits with the mood perfectly. I remembered I was walking back to my dorm late at night, this song came up accidentally, and it spoke a million words for me.
I made a playlist for these songs. Check it out here:
