Dying Butterfly- Napatsorn Treesap

I killed a butterfly not just once

                    But twice

I burned a Lady Banks’ Rose when the clock strikes

                    Thrice

I left my landlord at midnight and that is

                     A prize

I went to the lake and received the angel’s

                     An advice

I crossed the bridge to catch the last train

                       Tonight

I wished for a moment to catch it before

                        Daylight

I stumbled over the corpse and saw that

                       She’s a bride

I mourned over and over and sang her

                       A lullaby

I gave her lily and then started to roll

                       The dice

I guessed I was fated to face

                        Her eyes

I walked pass by and left the last word

                         Goodbye

I missed the train, I missed my last chance

And now I’m ready to die

I drank my signs and froze the time just

                    To think its still mine

I ain’t let the butterfly came out of my mouth

                   As the time passed by

I chocked on the blood from the endless pain

                   I won’t deny

I suffered and beautified its beauty

                  With the question “Why?”

I reconciled my distress with immortality

                  I notified

I let the cold winter come and get

                 A frostbite

I know— I know

When a million times the wind passed by

My corpse’s still facing the moonlight
